This initiative empowers female engineering students to identify and solve pressing agricultural problems within their local communities through engineering solutions..
Project ADVANCE will be hosted by the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Nigeria on February 2025.

Assemble a team of up to three people and identify a real-world agricultural problem, or process that needs improvement. You and your teammates work together to develop an innovative proof of concept for how the problem or activity can be solved to improve the lives of community members . You have a chance to apply your knowledge to drive meaningful change and make a difference.
Your project could also win you prizes, including N1.5M grant to develop your idea.

Women in engineering or other STEM-related fields. You must still be enrolled in school to qualify
No, you must be able to identify a viable problem in your community to solve
Minimum of 3 students with a maximum size of 5 students

Themes encompass agricultural challenges not limited to food production, fishing, and poultry. Teams are encouraged to choose their focus provided it is within the scope of this event

The event is free and at no cost to participants. All expenses regarding this event will be covered
Mentors will be available to finalists only
Projects will be judged according to our rubric, to measure success and identify finalists
There will be cash prizes of 500,000, 300,000, and 200,000 for finalists, a Grant of N 1.5M to the winning teams
Remote participation is allowed, but whoever is the finalists must make it to the in-person event in February.
